How will my camera be used?
A Los Altos Police Department investigator will contact you to request video evidence should an incident occur near your camera. Your camera cannot be live streamed.
Who can access my camera(s)?
Your camera will only be accessible to the Los Altos Police Department.

Register your security camera to help the Los Altos Police Department know you have a security camera and are willing to share footage to support a law enforcement investigation.
Your security video surveillance system could help to identify and apprehend suspects who have been recorded during a crime.
By registering your system, you could help officers quickly identify cameras that could aid in both the identification and apprehension of the suspect(s) responsible for the crime under investigation. This saves officers valuable time that they would otherwise spend going door-to-door attempting to locate security footage to help identify a suspect.
